Introduction:
NAGARIK refers to a dignified citizen dedicated for establishing the rights of deprived and ignored peoples among the indigenous, Dalit, Madhise and other marginalized groups. It is an online advocacy and successor of NAGARIK quarterly magazine used to publish in trilingual (Mother languages, English and Khas) born in Nov. 1998.
Vision:
NAGARIK has the vision of an ideal resourceful and empowered civil society that has recognized diversity for unity.
To establish the rights of deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed and highly marginalized groups through Freedom of Expression.
Goal:
Issues of the deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups may have addressed satisfactorily.
Objective:
To advocate the issues of deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups.
Programme:
To meet the above objective NAGARIK does the following programmes:
making aware peoples about the issues of deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups,
helping the deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups to build their confidence in raising their voices,
initiate networking between similar other groups to strengthen their unity,
building confidence to claim their right to information in their issues from different concerned agencies and stakeholders,
initiate networking among different civil society groups to address the issues of deprived, discriminated, and ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups.
Sustainability:
Collection of subscriptions, publication of periodicals and their sales, advertisement on site and reserve funds from implementing need based and right based different programmes partnering with the deprived, discriminated, ignored, oppressed, suppressed and highly marginalized groups
